My husband and I lived for 23 years in a home we built and loved. Because of its large size (three floors), we knew we wanted to downsize and find a one-floor residence that we could more easily and practically manage as we aged into our 70’s. We both dreaded the de-cluttering and “clean-out” of generational pieces of furniture and décor that had been such a part of our lives. The task seemed so overwhelming, both physically and emotionally, that we avoided moving ahead for a while. Having heard such excellent reports from friends who had used the services of Kari Kim and Liz Ryan of “A Simple Nest”, we engaged them to begin the process of de-cluttering, moving us toward the goal of relocating, selling our beloved home, and finding an appropriate place for the future.
From the get-go, Kari and Liz have guided us with such kindness, gentleness, and expertise, that what is accepted to be a challenging, even painful, process, became do-able and even enjoyable as we experienced the joys of simplifying by getting rid of so much stuff that had been burdensome for many years. Both of these women have amazing tastes, judgment, and sensitivity to the needs of their clients, taking us step by step, pausing when we became emotionally exhausted, and always encouraging us in “letting go” as we prepared for our new future. Kari and Liz relieved us of the burden of having to make so many decisions on our own–they have established great contacts with antique dealers, buyers, movers, decorators etc. and would arrange all parts of the process for us—it worked like a dream!
As we were cleaning out our home, we found a wonderful condo which fit our needs and preferences. What a joy to watch Kari and Liz move the furniture and objects we kept into the condo, and set up our new abode with approval from us for “best use” and placement. We are so appreciative of their energy expended and untiring devotion to the completion of the job; we could not have done it without their support and hard work. They will remain our good friends always. We highly commend them to your consideration if you are planning to downsize, de-clutter, or make a move to a more “simple nest.”

Simple Nest is a game changer! Both Kari and Liz are amazing at what they do. We sold a house and had to be out in 30-45 days. They took control and organized everything that had to be moved and sold what was left. They saved my husband and I from what could have been a huge headache and a monthly storage bill. They then helped move us to our new home and organized everything from my children’s toys, laundry room to the master closets. I have had them back numerous times to keep us straight! I can not say enough about how great they are. They are so easy to be around and take control without having to be involved because they do such a great job. I have recommended them to many friends and they all have had the same positive experience. It’s well worth the money! Love them and their amazing company.
Liz and Kari are the BEST Team! They are kind, honest, efficient, conscientious, very geared to accomplishing the project in the most economic way possible-they are at your “beck and call”-find out what your needs, no matter how great or how small-quickly assesss how to best go about project, come up with a “game plan” and immediately get the job done-they have worked countless hours for me-happily and always know how best to accomplish the task! They both have a creative eye and work with you to see how to approach job with style! They are experts at de-cluttering and will literally do anything whether taking items to a consigment store, or donation site or a place like Habitat-they know what should go where! I highly recommend this TEAM! I am happy to talk to anyone who would like a “hands on” reference. I actually have made two new friends which is the best part!
Exquisite!!!! I can’t believe my eyes!! It’s all so pretty and inviting. I loved the painted bench, too and the perfect bud vases on my mantle. Y’all are so extremely talented. Thank you both for all of your hard and persistent work. You can just never know how grateful I am for everything y’all did to help my mother (and me!).

When people ask me about Liz and Kari, I always say that they helped me to do something I wanted to do for years but just didn’t know how to start. It was truly life-changing!
Our moves have always been stressful and a bit chaotic. This year my husband and I hired Liz and Kari to help unpack, place the furniture, and organize everything in the new apartment -kitchen, clothes, paintings, and mirrors- all of it. The day of the move we were told to go to lunch! The two of them had a plan and executed it in almost no time. Never have we been so organized. We cannot imagine ever moving without their help again as the dreaded event was a breeze and fun. What a gift from them!
My experience working with Liz and Kari was both highly productive and enjoyable at the same time. I had struggled for years with how to organize my kitchen, laundry room, and garage. In 3 short visits, they had my home organized in a very functional way. It sometimes just takes another set of eyes to think through the design and make a space much more user friendly. The beauty of the relationship with Liz and Kari is that you can have as much involvement or as little involvement as you want. There were some projects that were too overwhelming for me to tackle, and they just jumped in and made it happen. I have recommended these ladies to all my friends, as our family has found their service to be a life saver. We have easily managed to keep things where they belong for a year now simply because it all finally makes sense to myself, my husband, and my children. We can’t thank them enough…
